Watch it all the way through to the end.
I keep seeing people complaining, comparing the celebrations of Sunday night to videos of extremists celebrating the events of 9/11. The difference between extremists celebrating 9/11 and Americans celebrating Bin Laden's death -- they celebrated the deaths of INNOCENT people. We were celebrating the death of a madman and awful representative for Arabs and humankind overall. We celebrated the death of a murderer. All these bleeding hearts crying about us 'celebrating death' should have to look into the eyes of the families of people that Al Qaeda killed, and explain their point of view.Last edited by Vector; 05-03-2011, 12:42 PM.

All this raging and arguing represents a clear and present danger to the stability of the Horror is Alive.

Aaah. Internet and politics. Such a great thing. This thread is so full of ... ah... forget it.

This is a pretty common practice/reaction in most countries in the world, especially when someone likes to think they can just go wherever and do whatever, regardless of whenever or whoever the target is. (Take a moment and flip this one around.)
Although not exactly the same, here's a case of "Try any of that bullshit and we're likely to open fire"
Anyway, think I'll snatch rope myself out of this mess before I get entangled in some random flavor of stupidity.

In my opinion any individual who says that NATO's involvement in Libya was wrong, either does not see what is truly going down there, has political reasons beneficial only to his country (and his country's allies) and his belief, or lacks basic ethical and moral principles. If you can recall, Gaddafi was very close (needed one more day) to eradicate the people of Benghazi which then would have been the end of any Libyan individual's basic civil rights in that country. These very civil rights are what you and I have, sitting idly by and seeing this taken from people is a major crime against humanity.Last edited by Trent; 05-03-2011, 10:09 AM.

So the Arab demonstrators in Libya think that Obama is their public enemy? No. The problem here is that if you are on the Western side, it is hard to see how people in Libya are actually suffering. They need all the help they can get. These people have a tyrant who is slaughtering their basic human rights. Obama and NATO are the heroes to these people, and they are loved for their actions to support them. The world can not sit idly by when thousands of people are getting killed by a tyrant who wants to protect himself and his family. Obama is loved by many Arabs - by any Arab that believes in freedom in his country. Politics will remain politics, but that does not change the fact that NATO finally woke up and lent their hands to help the Libyan people. No one person should have ultimate power to control peoples' way of life.

I think what I'll do is I'll take over Osama bin Laden's old job and try and do it better, and not get killed. Being a white male I can walk through airport security without so much as a single official batting an eyelid, I'd have to adopt an entirely new approach to terrorism too.
No blowing stuff up since that doesn't seem to work. What we'll do instead is get everyone round a table, and put together a solution package : perhaps over tea and biscuits.

God, the world really is a huge mess isn't it?
Interesting that it says here that Bin laden tried to use a woman as a human shield as he open fire on the commandos before they shot his ass up. Loser really did die a cowards death.

Wasn't aware you'd been appointed a moderator, congratulations on that!!
And i "drag it further" (your spin, not mine) based on not being convinced by him being aware of the bigger picture. I think that's pretty obvious.
Being someone apparently aware of the bigger picture, once that bigger picture had struck me, the last thing i would be concerned with is showing people photos and videos of people celebrating, i'd be wondering about the knock-on effect.Last edited by Stu; 05-03-2011, 04:26 AM.
