Talking about prices only inflates the cost people will sell it for, especially when no one else is currently selling said product. And I bet a lot of people, like myself, aren't in the same position they were back in 2007 to offer up the same donation again.

Enough. It's not a wise move to say specific numbers, because the folks who are interested in selling it will want to sell it for as much as they can, but it was four figures.

How much money did you collect when you planned to make an offer to Curator?

The one I mentioned in my previous post, in possession by someone in Europe.

Well its good to know the facts of whats happened. That way it won't turn into chinese whispers.

All I know is the last time, the seller was big on honour and had offered it to a collecter for $300 or something, but the community offered more but out of honour he still let the previous buyer have first choice for $300. If my info is incorrect I apologise.

That's pretty much correct. It was offered to a friend of his for $300 before he offered it to us. Apparently his friend didn't accept right away, so the offer was passed our way (albeit for a much larger sum). Right before we had everything ready to go, the guy's friend accepted the offer and he sold it to him instead.

That's been the only legitimate offer, that I am aware of in the last 10 years, that ever made it to the community. At least, in terms of sales offer anyway.

However it has popped up a little more than that. Back in late 1999/2000, the "final beta" popped up with a source that Inflames talked to for a bit. The guy was originally gonna give him a copy, but unfortunately circumstances caused things to go sour and this source disappeared.

Then of course 2007, the copy we were going to buy popped up. Possibly the same copy (we haven't been able to 100% confirm it, but it's pretty likely) popped up via Curator's source and the PSM review. That disc is not for sale. And no, Capcom never contacted Curator or anything.

And the last known copy, that I know of, I was pointed to by a friend of mine that I have confirmed to be legit. The one I mentioned in my previous post, in possession by someone in Europe.

So it's out there, and at least one copy is/has been recently "circulating". We will have to see what the future holds.
