I think ORC is probably the only Resident Evil title in the series that made me less excited with every new gameplay trailer released. I was so excited when it was annouced, so many thoughts went through my head at wat this could mean, a UBCS campaign that is cannon and made by Capcom was one of those dreams.
I agree with everyone else who says it's a fun multiplayer and co-op game but nothing else. ORC has such a lack of quality to it that it actually hurts, that Capcom quality we are use to just was not there. A simple example of this is the first RE6 trailer scene with Leon and the Zombie president, the difference in that Japanese charm and quality was just not there with ORC as much as I wanted it to be.

Outbreak doesn't expand the size of the city, actually. Not very much, anyway. It works within the limits of the map that was drawn up for BH3, the same map being used in Outbreak itself (and the map itself is only a rough outline). All of the areas in Outbreak are actually just places that were introduced on the map, which includes the zoo and university. That was the purpose of the game to begin with; to show the rest of the city. The "train yard" in ORC is actually seen in Outbreak, but it's exclusively for trams/cable cars. The city had no overground train service, only underground. We didn't see very much of the city in BH2 and BH3.Originally posted by Archelon View PostThat's borderline irrelevant when you consider that Capcom has added things to Raccoon City with each subsequent game, whether or not they were originally intended to be part of the city.
The Outbreak games, in particular, expanded the size of the city almost exponentially.
The Raccoon City in ORC bears no resemblance to the city's actual design. While it was changed for gameplay reasons, it is irrelevant.
I'm actually hesitant to call anything in ORC an "inconsistency" since it's not really meant to be consistent with anything. Its in its own world/canon/universe/setting/timeline/blablabla. It has no connection to the main series.Last edited by News Bot; 05-18-2012, 02:31 PM.

Ah, I got the date's confused. However, it appears to be Four Eyes who releases the Tyrants, even though it is established that they were dropped in by Sergei Vladimir.Time wise the spec ops battle at the p12A facility would take place after sep 29th so it could fit. I havent played the new dlc tho so dont know the specifics. But overall there are way too many inconsistencies to make it fit. Plus how could you integrate Leon and Claire escaping via helicopter into the canon without them killing Birkin?
That's not counting the simple fact that "SPEC OPS FIELD UNIT" does not exist in the BIO world. The team sent to the city in the background story of BH3 are Green Berets. Actual Special Forces, not made-up clowns. And they all die (some escape and are killed in the hospital).
I'm sure the BH2 ending scenes play out fine when they're still in the city.Originally posted by Dracarys View PostMoving the location of RE2s ending scene, placing the mission 7 after RE2. I've not checked the timing of anyting in ORC much.

Yes, I destroyed one of his weak spots in the back and he popped the one close to the heart. After that he never switched even with me shooting everything I had in it. After a while the sound and music glitched as well so I simply quit and did everything from the beginning.Originally posted by Dracarys View PostDO you mean
...the thing has a lot of heath, you were shooting the weak points right, and actually hitting them (they erupt in a glow of light each hit). The one on top is hard to hit.
Also it's not possible to run out of ammo because there are two infinite ammo boxes and health pops all over the place.

Realistically? Probably not. But then I'm not very uptight about the canon, certainly not in regards to specific dates, times, etc.

The battle at the abandoned plant depicted in the SPEC OPS campaign occurs about a week after it does in the official canon. That plus many more issues = no. It is just as bad as the U.S.S. campaign in terms of how "well" it fits into the series storyline. The entire game is "what-if", a re-telling of events from a new perspective and alternative paths that runs parallel to the actual storyline, they are completely separate and never intertwine.Originally posted by Archelon View PostThis will probably make News Bot rage harder than the Hulk, but I'd honestly be okay with Capcom integrating the Spec Ops campaign into the official canon, as it seems to cause far fewer headaches than the USS campaign. Plus I just like the Spec Ops a lot more than the USS.Last edited by News Bot; 05-18-2012, 10:55 AM.

Maby if they had added that virus meter in operation raccon city, it could have been more intense like outbreak.
i honestly think it could have worked out.
not the whole, you get bitten then you are infected crap ( but) you start from the very begining with the virus meter going slowly up.Last edited by rehunk88; 05-18-2012, 10:21 AM.
