No problem.
If I have one major criticism about the movie, it's that it relies way too often on cheap "3D" effects and shots. What I mean is, since the movie was going to be released in 3D in theatres, the film is inundated with those tired old shots of crap flying at the screen. If people thought the slow motion scenes in Resident Evil: Afterlife were annoying, I don't think they'll appreciate them much more in Damnation, as there are a lot.
There were so many, in fact, that I was able to fairly accurately predict whenever a "in your face" shot was coming.Last edited by Archelon; 09-15-2012, 11:13 AM.

I'll have to watch it again for the specific month, but if I recall correctly, it's set in either February or March of 2011.

Are there any dates? I mean does we know when is Damnation set? Which year?

Neither Carla nor Simmons are in Damnation, unless you're assuming Ada's handler at the end was Simmons. The Ada we see is the real Ada Wong. "Carla" hasn't been created yet.
Regarding the Licker Betas...
Spoiler:
It's never explicitly stated, but it's greatly implied that they were injected with subordinate species plagas, as the resistance fighters had both subordinate and dominant strains of the parasite. The Lickers were apparently purchased off the black market, but not necessarily from Tricell.
Also, a random note regarding Leon and Ada's first encounter in the movie...

Regarding how Las Plagas was obtained...
Spoiler:
Ada seems to imply that she was the one who provided at least two dominant species plagas and several subordinate species plagas to the resistance army. However, I'm not entirely certain this is the case, as it is discovered later in the movie that the president of the Eastern Slav Republic has been harvesting and cultivating Las Plagas on a massive scale. Leon suspects that she was the one who released the plagas into the wild, which she neither confirms nor denies.
JD, one of the resistance members, says they were given the plagas by their "elders," and we find out towards the end of the movie that the president has been making some backroom deals with the elders, so she may very well have been the one who provided the plagas to the resistance movement after all.
We never find out how or from where she got the plagas in the first place, though. No reference is made to Ada's organization, the events of Resident Evil 4, Tricell, Neo-Umbrella, or pretty much anything else that would tie this directly to the games. Ada does retrieve a dominant species plaga for her handler (who we see briefly from behind but never speaks, instead communicating via a computer monitor and typing on a keyboard), but to what end, there's no telling.

Just finished watching it. This movie was way better then both Damnation and the actual live movies (not saying much for the live movies). It felt more like a Resident Evil title and does a good job of blending both horror and action. Some pretty good twists and surprises. My only issue was that Leon sort of had his RE4 personality with his one liners although this time quite a few of them were in bad taste when RE4 they were meant for those who were enemies.
During the scrolling of the end credits there are some scenes of RE6 however a lot of them are what you already seen in the trailers but quite a few of them are extended which can be considered a spoiler.
I'll wrap spoiler tags around the stuff I'll say so anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled doesn't have to read it however I will not ruin it for anyone just telling you what to expect and not to expect.
Spoiler:
Las Plagas.
It's not specifically said how they obtained Las Plagas from either Ada or Saddler in that regard but they do say how they are in possession of it. There is an explanation that uses an analogy between the control and slave parasite with that of a queen and worker bee. Las Plagas is the main attraction of the movie.
Neo-Umbrella, Tricell, Ada's Organization, Umbrella, etc.
It's not talked about nor is there anything that hints to this. Suggested it's probably being held for the video game.
Purpose of the movie.
It's basically just to show how Las Plagas can be effective as a weapon in the battlefield. The movie does a good job at this.Last edited by Reston; 09-15-2012, 08:33 AM.
