Mercer's role in the movie was killed by the appalling translated script, with some of the most cringe-worthy lines I've ever heard in the series. As evidenced by BH6, he plays Leon a lot better (and more accurately) when his dialogue isn't butchered by a dickhead. His actual delivery of the "jokes" in the script is pretty poor too. Same can be said for Taylor with Ada.

Well I just downloaded the movie and I thought it was the best RE movie yet. I am still saddened that Buddy was not Ark. He looks exactly like him, even has similar clothing. What a missed opportunity to reach in to the bag of disposable characters and pull him back out.

I'd totally see JD as an older Lott, a few tweeks and it works bro lol

To me, Mercer sounds like an older Mercier, just as Mercier sounded like an older Haddad. They all have similar voice types. Mercier had more charisma though =[

Now that's a good movie. Good story, good characters, good fight scenes and those last 40 minutes, holy shit! Tyrants vs Lickers was just fucking perfect.

That's a good shout there Bats regarding the last scene with Ada and Simmons. I think that'll set up the foundation of the relationship we'll see in Resident Evil 6.
