One more thing. My good friend loves it, and she doesn't even consider it a horror game. Okay, back on topic, I bet you're anticipating the sequel, huh?
-
I didn't say I guarantee she will enjoy it, but if she has played Resident Evil then she should buy it as it is a good horror game and most RE fans I know who have played it, have enjoyed it. I never said I guarantee she will like it, that's twisting my words on your part.
Anyway, I don't want to debate on what I said and what I didn't. Let's get back on topic.

Well, its the way you word your recommendation.Originally posted by AlexiaAshford View PostThat's fair enough. I could say on the same token that not everyone will dislike it. I simply stated I enjoyed the game, very much so. I never said I assume everyone who plays it will enjoy it.. so I don't know where you think I said that.
"It's brilliant and I'd recommend any fan who's ever played Resident Evil and enjoyed it, to buy this game."
Kinda comes off like, "If you liked RE, you'll like this." So... Okay, maybe not everyone who plays it will like it, but everyone who liked RE will like it.
I'm just saying, I realize you really like this game, but you're making it sound like you're guaranteeing that missvalentine will love it. All I'm saying is that I like Resident Evil and I didn't like EDSR.

I never said that. All I said was "tread carefully, because not EVERYONE enjoyed it."
And I stated my arguments. Graphics, gameplay, and the ending. Mostly the gameplay. I didn't like it, and some other people might not either. I'm not saying not to buy it, I'm just giving an opposing point of view. Which I strongly believe. I don't think it's such a great game.Last edited by Biohazard EX; 11-28-2008, 05:51 PM.

Nor can you assume that aspects you found in the game to be disappointing, everyone else will too. Especially considering that you're not prepared to elaborate on that and justify your point, finishing it up with "Well, all I know is I found it tedious". That's not because of the gameplay. The gameplay was fine, it probably just wasn't for you. My point is that you're then saying to someone else "I warn you against buying it because of 1 2 and 3", then you're not prepared to back it up when I ask you what your issues were with them in the first place.

Right... But as you can see, not EVERYONE loved the game. So you can't just assume that whoever plays it is gonna love it.

Well then that's your opinion. I played the game, enjoyed every minute of it, and wasn't disappointed at the ending.

No. I'm not gonna take it apart and try to dissect every little aspect of it. All I know is that I sat there, playing it, and all that was going in my head was, "This is tedious, when am I gonna finish this chapter so that I can see who the next character is?"

Some doesn't mean all. So it's a bad game because some characters can't run very fast? Bearing in mind some, not all, depending on which character it is, for specific reasons.
I don't see how you couldn't have enjoyed the game simply because some characters don't run fast.

Well, all I know is that I didn't enjoy it very much. And RE's gameplay was a lot faster than ED. Even RE1 had faster running.Originally posted by AlexiaAshford View PostIt's not mostly with swords. A lot of characters have guns too and you can choose where to shoot, like in RE. I found the gameplay similar and don't see why you found it to be a problem in ED if it wasn't for RE.
I wasn't a Lovecraft fan before this game, it was the other way round. The game started my interest in him. You don't have to be anything to appreciate and enjoy this game.
Yeah, there are guns, but some characters force swords, and even the final boss battle pretty much has to be fought with a sword.

Right... So maybe it was the fact that I wasn't playing the game, going, "Oh, that's just like in that book!"
The control scheme is nothing like classic RE gameplay. It's mostly with swords, and non-tank controls.Originally posted by missvalentine View Postwell ill get eternal darkness if i see it again then, i did really like the classic gameplay.
Cthulhu, another horror game i have yet to play.Last edited by Biohazard EX; 11-28-2008, 05:22 PM.

It certainly doesn't hurt, since it's pretty much Lovecraft in all but name.
