I kept Ashley as a g/f just cause I got a feeling she will come back in ME3 as a playable character. Even though I was trying to be a pimp and get Mirranda as well lol. Hopefully causing a cat fight in ME3

Beat the game a couple of days ago. It was pretty damned good. I enjoyed the level of connection to the first game, via e-mails and meeting former acquaintances. You got an update on just about everyone.

Do you have to loose people on the Suicide run? I lost Samara (Second team leader) and Thane (Sent him through the vents) but I was wondering if there was a right person for those jobs, who wouldn't die.

You can have everyone survive. Send Legion in the vents, with Garrus as first leader. Send Mordin back with the crew, and then have Jack as the biotic shield, with Miranda leading the second squad. I used Miranda and Garrus at the end too. Also make sure you have everyone loyal

Tali can survive the Vents, Miranda will survive anything she's asked to do *not sure about vents*, Samara can do the Biotic Shield, Tali can also escort the crew back to the Normandy, Garrus will also survive as first or 2nd fire team leader.

you can loose loyalty if you don't side with them in the post-loyalty-mission argument scenes that some of them have, the best way to do it is to choose the blue or red paragon/renegade repsonses if your stats are high enough to keep 'em both loyal.

otherwise sending the wrong person for the wrong thing in the suicide mission can get them killed too regardless of loyalty

I think there's normally a choice of a couple who can survive the end part, and they'll only die if you send the completely wrong type of person in there.

Team Leaders - Garrus/Miranda
Vents - Legion/Tali
Biotics - Samara/Jack.

I always send back Mordin because he always seemed the weakest combat wise to me, so it made sense. I never pick Miranda for the biotic part when she offers herself up, because although she's a good biotic, she isn't comparable to Samara or Jack. Jack's biotics are batshit insane and even she was struggling to keep the defenses up towards the end because it was so exhausting.

I picked Samara first time I did the biotic shield part and it turned out to be exactly the same. So I dont think theres any difference between the characters chosen for this. However, it would be interesting to know what happened of say Jacob did it.

That's why I said Samara/Jack They are your two main biotic characters in ME2. Miranda and Jacob are biotic as well, but it doesn't really emphasize much on their biotic abilities whereas the game makes it obvious that Samara and Jack are extremely biotically gifted. My point was, each time you have to pick someone, it's asking for certain characteristics.

Biotic = A powerful biotic
Vents = Tech
Leader = Someone with strong leadership qualities but is not reckless
Send back = Someone who isn't needed in all of the above.

I've just beaten the game (took me some time, but I had a really busy time recently). I've done every single mission I could find, had relationship with both Jack and Tali (weird that even though before the final mission I had sex with Jack, after the mission, when I went to her to talk, she was still "I dunno, let me think about it", so because I really wanted to see Tali without a helmet, I dumped her and went for Tali <3) and had every possible upgrade. It seems that I've done too many planet scans and I've ended up with about 70k element zero and 250-300k of other minerals.

The game is a blast. I still missed the Mako and looting (I love the armour customization, but gun upgrades wasn't that fun- it was much too simplified), but the game hopefully improved in other aspects. Shooting mechanic is great this time, missions are interesting and very diverse (I love the mission on a spaceship, where a VI went crazy - really spooky), party members are much more interesting and vivid than the ones in ME1 (Liara and Kaiden are boring).

Now it's time to wait for ME3 .

BTW. Can you rescue crew members that were abducted by Collectors? When I arrived only Dr. Chawks and some random guy were still living, and Doctor Chakwas told me, that if I had arrived earlier I could have rescued the team. I so wanna Kelly, Daniels and Donnelly to survive .

You can, you have to take the last mission immediately after the crew gets abducted. So basically you have to finish everything up before you go through the Omega relay, before you even do the Reaper IFF mission.
