I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker who's son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the Manhattan bridge.

Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation. There is some payback there at the end of the movie. Spider-man is kind of hurting. I help him when all of the other people won't.

Part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy. They don't know what to think. Because of my experience on the bridge with my kid, I know he is a good guy. I pitch in and help out at the end. That is the best way."

We've known for a while now that Rhys Ifans is playing Dr. Connors/The Lizard.

It was confirmed for the reboot.

That's how it is being handled by the media. I guess this happens because Reimi's SM4 was also to have that bad boy as its main villain.

I dunno if it was confirmed THEN, but there was talk about it being the Lizard dude, and that was since 2007. I remember it being talked about in some nerd sites around 2009. So it wasn't something new.

Anyway, they confirmed it for this reboot as well as the whole 'Spidey is public enemy' sub-plot. Now that, we've def seen before.

I just checked... Raimi never made it official that the lizard was to be the villain in SM4. Instead, he believed that the next villain down the line needed to help Spidey grow as a character.
