Resident Evil 2 Remake being developed by fans (authorized)

The Sonic CD 're-release' was created by a guy who made fan hacks. SEGA hired him to work on it and he rebuilt the engine from ground up. It's not a re-release, more like a re-construction. He wanted to add an extra level for getting good future in every world but SEGA were like no.

Yeah this was the exact thought I had, guess not from the other responses - no surprise. Still think it's hilarious Capcom said that just before RE6 got released. Brand hype marketing and nothing more, people have been asking for another remake for 10 years now - I remember they expected it back on Gamecube and all they did was lazy ports.
