First thing: Capcom needs a brand new engine.
They already have one. Deep Down, Capcom's new Dark Souls-esque RPG for the PS4, is running on the Panta Rhei engine. Hopefully, it scales as good as the MT Framework engine. Their previous gen games were top-tier and ran really well on PC.

Lets hope it is a good engine with lots of new features, i am tired of the bland MT that makes every capcom game the same since DMC 4

The MT engine has been used for quite a few different games over the years, whilst UE3 was used to create the recent DMC prequel.

Nowadays alot of engines are designed with flexibility in mind. MT was the first known example of an Eastern developed taking a western approach to tools. The only thing holding Capcom projects back should have been the hardware and the creative decisions.

Well, that's currently the most close approach ever seen to a RE2 remake. And actually, a fan-made project that gets completed, that's such a genuine and extremely rare achievement.

It's even more impressive considering someone did this to teach themselves how to code. Let's hope the work pays off and they end up getting a job in games.

RE2Make has to remain as pre-rendered backgrounds! That is the beauty (and art) of these games!

And I saw Rod Lima's videos last summer when they were in separate parts, whilst it's impressive, I actually don't like them. Although their assets could be useful for something

The thing is, if they actually decided to remake any further games, they would Almost certainly do it so that, at the least, they would resemble revelations or 5 in gameplay terms. The days of preredered backgrounds are essentially over.

Then they are on the road to "Epic Fail"

The guy just mixed Darkside Chronicles' assets with RE2's soundtrack. It's a cool tech demo, especially for a "one-man team", but it's visibly dull and boring to play even if we put aside the bad looking UI and simplistic gameplay.

He says there's no plans for a release, he just did it for learning purposes... but maybe some day he changes his mind.

With the capabilities of today's hardware and every scenario being created in full 3D, I don't understand why they just didn't come yet with the idea of making a RE that allows the player to switch between OTS camera and predefined static cameras. They could make both and everyone would be able to enjoy the game in the way they want.

Theoretically, REmake style is just a given, but taking into account current day Capcom development teams, I wouldn't want the game to be remade today.
