No I listened to the podcast on it. There's no mention of RE4, in fact, they mention resident evil 2.

I'm not even gonna bother renting it. I refuse to acknowledge Las Plagas in Resident Evil's history. And since this game will surely mention events which happened in RE4, it's a lost cause.
I'll just stick to playing the good RE games, mainly RE1 through 3. And Anderson's movies do just fine for me when it comes to noninteractive media. I'd rather deal with Alice and her eliteness than Leon and his girly hair and cheesy one liners.

Well, honestly, I never felt Resident Evil was about Umbrella, or zombies. It was about getting yourself a fresh pair of underwear because you were just scared senseless yet again. Resident Evil 4 failed in that, it's true, but not nearly as badly as Anderson's movies did. Since when has lazer beam been an acceptable way to kill most of the cast off in a zombie movie? And when has it been a brilliant plan to have the monster that terrified everyone in the game be a soft lovable puppy dog after being beaten in hand to hand combat?

I'm hopeful, although not hugely confident, that the folks at Capcom are gonna stick to there claims and make the new game scary. And yeah, it may not have zombies, although there are hints some Umbrella B.O.W's are making a return along with Wesker. So long as it's scary, has some half decent puzzles and isn't as linear as 4 is I'll call it a win.

You're right... No Umbrella building a wall around the city... In fact, in the games we get no Umbrella at all. No T-Virus. No zombies. You call that Resident Evil?

Alice is a small sacrifice for getting actual, real, decaying T-Virus zombies, and Umbrella, the evil corporation. Which were things that made RE awesome in the first place. Anderson's movies might not be truly faithful to Resident Evil, but they're still a lot more faithful to its origins than Capcom is at the moment.

So until I discover that Anderson put Las Plagas in the next movie, I'm looking forward to it.

That's what I'm saying, resident evil 5 is what we've all been waiting for all these years. No more side stories, just chris v.s. wesker, the mysterious spencer, sherry's return, Jill's who knows what. It's like an epic finale to the story/games we love, so why say it's going to suck?

There's so many things wrong with that sentence I don't know where to begin. You actually liked the movies but you're not looking forward to the game? Or are you saying that both the movies and the games haven taken a turn for the worst? If you're saying the latter, trust me I understand http://www.the-horror.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2695
But how is it even possible to be a real fan and not complain about the movies? At least the games haven't turned into a fashion show spliced with constant shots of Milla's boobs.

    RE5 > RE4

Why am I doomed to be surrounded by pessimists?
That's why I don't post as much nowadays.

No, that wasn't Anderson. Nor did he play any of the zombies in the first movie. I still don't understand how people can complain about the movies, but then say they're looking forward to RE5.

Probably, he was a crappy zombie in the first movie.

Wasn't that Anderson itself? I though I read that somewhere... but now I'm not sure.
