I sense some negativity here, I think we should be more optimistic about this. It never hurts to try so get over there and post you lazy bums!

Outbreak sold 1.5 million copies, and is Capcoms 22nd best selling game of all time. And besides, more people play online nowadays. Look at the success of Left 4 Dead. IMO, Outbreak would do very well if they incorporated voice chat and gave us some DLC (More levels, etc)

      Oh, and I'll add what a Mod just posted;

"If it's obvious that there's a fanbase then Capcom will take notice. You aren't going to get an answer in a day. When Capcom see's 10,000 people posting for a new outbreak title, they will definitely consider it."

        I don't want a port.

But a new outbreak game on the Xbox 360 or PS3 would be very welcome.
Outbreak with easier online access and voice chat would be great.

...right, but this topic isn't about a new Outbreak, it's about a port.

I seem to recall a few moderators mentioning over the years, that Japan somehow shows resentment towards Outbreak or they don't like discussing it. Maybe there's bad blood with producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka? :0 Who did DMC 2 and Outbreak. Both games received really bad press.

Anyhow, Outbreak should be ported to the freaking PC.

New game/port, I'm not really bothered aslong as the series is revived in some form, but it definitely won't happen unless the fans show enough interest.

We haven't had a "No" from Sven, and the others mods seem pretty optimistic aslong as the fans get involved and show support..

"Keep discussing it (in proper place), what you wanna see, how much you lvoed it, what you hated. Like all things, it takes time. Keep up the talk in nice fashion and right people take notice of what fans want to see. That easy."

I would love to be able to play Outbreak online again. Never got the chance to play the first game online, since I'm European. I did play the second game online a couple of times, but somehow I liked the first game more than the second.

I would love it even more if Capcom would make a new online RE game, maybe some kind of remake of Outbreak, or an entirely new game. I don't think a port of Outbreak would sell, because of the outdated controls, loading times and graphics.

What I would really like, is a game where you are able to explore Raccoon City entirely and choose your own way to escape. You should be able to enter all the important buildings, like the Police Station, Clock Tower, Subway, Vacant Factory, Laboratory etc. Exploring these buildings might result in finding items you need to escape. Other buildings (like the lab from RE2) offer a way to escape the city.

There should be a possibility to coop with other players (same as Outbreak, only communication should be a little better this time). The game should also have the same puzzles the old RE games had.

Gameplay should be RE4/5 style, since that style appeals to a broader audience. It also offers easier ways to dodge enemies. To make sure this won't be another action game, there shouldn't be a lot of guns and ammo (same as in the old RE games). Enemies definately shouldn't be dropping ammo.

Furthermore you should also be able to block doors and windows (same as in Outbreak, but it was a little too limited in the original game) to delay the hordes of zombies.

Basically a lot of this is what Capcom promised us, before they released the Outbreak games we got now.

I dont know whether it will do much good, but any slim hope of another Outbreak game/port is worth supporting if you ask me. Given how Online console gaming has taken off since the idea was first concieved, a new Outbreak would prod buttock.

I think given the chance of a port of both games on XBLA and PSN that they would do very well.

I've spoken to lots of my American friends who have played the game online (including one just last night while we were playing Battlefield 1943 on the 360) and they all say that even compared to online gaming today, the games were still great fun online.

I know I've only played the games offline but just by playing them offline, even with the stupid AI in all I can easily see how much fun it would be if those 3 muppet bots were being controlled by real people.

The AI is actually controlled by squirrels.

The AI sucks hard indeed. The main reason I never play outbreak anymore is because I can't play with real people... instead I have to play with AI that uses acid rounds to kill a crow.

Fat Princess has reviewed wonderfully, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has sold well, PS1 Classics such as Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII have been as popular as they were a decade ago, and there's only more great things to come in the future. Today, the board has finally made the decision you and many of our fans have been waiting for -- we're going to start digitally distributing PlayStation 2 titles on the PlayStation Store!"

                            *gasp, shock, awe, applause*

"Great idea, sir! The loyal Sony fanboys will love this. What games are you thinking about first? God of War? ICO? Shadow of The Colossus? Final Fantasy X? Metal Gear Solid 2? Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Vice City? Resident Evil 4? Oh! How about God of War 2, or SOCOM II, or one of the Prince of Persia titles?"

"No, Johnson. No. Why sell the most popular, best-selling and highest-rated games? That's preposterous. We have to go with the minority here. We have to go with the thousands of fans of an online-based game that focused on teamwork and simultaneously did not support voice chat. I was thinking...RESIDENT EVIL: OUTBREAK."

                            "..."

                            "Didn't you read the petition?"
You know it's possible to release multiple games right? Like say release Outbreak, and all the other games you mentioned? They could also pretty easily add voice chat into the game. I mean your acting like this is out of the question to be porting Outbreak. Capcom port everything, I am surprised Outbreak has yet to receive a port. Outbreak should of been released now anyway, it was way ahead of it's time back in 2004.

I fully support this port. I want more Outbreak badly. I would gladly sacrifice and burn every known copy of RE5 as a burnt offering to a huge Jill statue just so that capcom will make RE Outbreak 3 or at least port the first 2 Outbreaks onto PSN.

they wouldnt be making much money releasing PS2 games on the PSN store cause alot of PS3's arnt backwards compatible with PS2 games.

If they are ported to the PS3. Just like how Remake was ported from the GC too the Wii. Everything should be fine.
