Chance for Outbreak to be ported to XBL/PSN?

I wouldn't consider it a classic. I'd consider RE1/2/3/CV classics because they are fifth gen games. Outbreak is sixth gen. CV was sort of borderline because it was high end fifth gen but not quite PS2/GC standards. You'll see what I mean if you graphically compare REmake and Code Veronica. Aside from that, the Outbreaks are side games and don't continue the stories canon. Classics = main game. There's no set formula by which something is a classic, but 90% of the time, people are referring to the original trilogy and sometimes CV.
Also, bitching about who likes RE5 and who doesn't is sort of irrelevant. That's very 2004. Some people like it, some don't. Who really cares? I know I'm not.
Capcom won't port it to XBL/PSN if Sven has already said they won't. I even asked Snow who told me in so many words; "No".

Like... Gaiden and... Survivor and... Survivor 2 D:
If Capcom could make another game like that, I would love them forever. But before that... REmake 2. I would sell myself for REmake 2.

Eh, well, didn't hurt to dream I suppose.
I guess all we'll have is the memories of its online play (Ones I'll never have D=) and the offline play.
But seriously, ever since this thread I've been having these fragmented dreams of new scenarios, wtf. ><

Then we would have to say, it's a classic game, half classic, or new style. It's stupid.
All RE games but RE4/5 and Survivor/Chronicles are classic styled RE games. RE4/5 Survivor/Chronicles are new styled RE games. Simple as that. Can't believe anyone would think otherwise.
When they came out has nothing to do with anything and is irrelevant. By that logic Survivor is a classic styled RE game.

To be honest. Outbreak would be a lot better with the new over-the-shoulder RE control style.
Yes I know most of you will throw shitfits at those words. But hear me out.
First off: The main thing that makes that camera style scary is not knowing whats behind you. With the enemies from outbreak moving from room to room it would be perfect because something could always be sneaking up on you. I think quick time events should be done away with. They make the character overpowered. There should just be the dodge button that is unique to each character like in Outbreak. Dynamic lighting would add a lot to the scare factor. The inventory system in RE5 would be perfect for an Outbreak game. Giving items to people would be a lot more streamlined. Melee weapons should have to be equipped unlike the knife in RE5. Enemies shouldn't drop ammo. There is a limited supply of bullets and if you use them up, then it's time to pick up a broom. The virus gauge should be a lot slower but preferably it shouldn't exist.
Secondly: There should be no plagas. Only T-virus. RE5 showed that classic BOWs can still work in a new styled RE game. The Lickers, dogs, and Chimera-like monsters were fantastic. Crows would need to be tweaked but I think they can be done successfully.
Every RE monster would work in this type of RE game. Even zombies. First thing is to make them only die from head shots. Shooting them in the spine or legs makes them fall and start crawling or play dead. Leaving them like that makes them become crimson heads after awhile. Sure head shots might be too easy, but if you make the zombies shamble around erratically and you increase the number of them, then you have a scary challenge to survive.
Finally: The levels should be big but confined and nonlinear, not big arenas like RE4 and RE5. Doors should NOT be destroyable like in RE4 and RE5. To open them they need to be unlocked. You still need to find keys and solve puzzles. The level shouldn't be one connected map. It should be like previous outbreak games but with more connected rooms. There shouldn't be a load screen for one stinking bathroom. All of the other level mechanics from Outbreak 1 could still work in a RE5 styled game. But there should be more zombies roaming around at the same time.
Outbreak can work with the RE4 controls and it can be scary. It would do away with annoying controls and easy auto aiming.Last edited by BLSR1; 08-10-2009, 10:24 AM.
