I'm personally glad they reduced the number of weapons. In UC, you had far more, but there was little differentiating the members of each specific category. Sure, they each had their own base stats, but you could hardly tell the difference between them during gameplay.

There are many more customization options with the weapons in Darkside as a result of there being fewer to choose from. Besides, all the bases are covered. Handgun, shotgun, machine gun, magnum, etc.

The boss (in the church) is actually Manuela's mother, aka Javier's wife. She and Manuela had a unknown illness and were administered with the virus as part of their treatment. It is possible that the illness have altered the nature of the virus. The reason why Manuela didn't mutate is because she have organ transplant regularly.

I already know that thanks to Archelon, and he also said that she was infected with T-virus(the 1st boss), but that's exactly what's strange. Unless indeed that disease altered the course of infection, there are only 2 outcomes: zombie or Tyrant. But it's possible that hormonal disbalance caused by a disease altered the infection. Very possible.

Also this whole scenario reminds me of Flashback from Outbreak File 2. Plants, fusion with plants, T-virus used as cure, and a lot of other similarities. Don't you think?

But it was not a T-veronica B.O.W. It was a T-virus creature... And yet Krauser didn't turn into a zombie. Hmm. In fact, I find strange that it's a T-virus creature in the first place. If everything Archelon told is right, then it's very puzzling. If the 1st boss was a human infected with a normal T-virus, then why it turned into this huge thing and not just a normal zombie or, if compatible, into a Tyrant. Or perhaps this is her Tyrant form? Sergei's Tyrant form looked weird too and had tentacles. And if Wesker's file is right, then it shows inner emotions of a mutated host. In this case... A huge lizard tentacle insect monster with blue eyes. Or it's another translation error and the 1st boss is a actually a T-veronica creature. Or a modified G-virus creature. If a T-virus was used on a normal human, without additional gene altering, then it's either zombie or Tyrant. In case of 1st boss, looks like a naturally compatible Tyrant. It has something from a plant though, which is puzzling... It also retained some memory and humanity, if it didn't attack Manuela and listened to her song. If Sergei was not an exception, it seems natural Tyrants retain sanity more or less. I remember Sergei could shoot linsect-like larvas too. They both have insect-like qualities.

So Krauser's mutation does come from a virus and not Las Plaga? Is it explicitly shown or stated?

It didn't explain Krauser's mutation. It says that Krauser's arm never recover, (which possibly implies that his arm got paralyzed/degenerate after that, but there's no virus in him) so he goes on to find Wesker.

Can you shoot and kill enemies while there on the floor inactive or do you have to wait until it goes into action mode with them coming towards you?
Can you turn off the re4 style laser line?
