    ハニガン - Hannigan
Hunnigan isn't a real name (Google it for hilarity). It literally exists only for RE4 and the material thereafter. It's an outright mistranslation. A VERY amateur one too. Vowels man, how do they work?
    We got three!

It's spelled in kana as "Hanigan" for the same reason Hunk is spelled as "Hank" (even Lady Hunk is RediHanku); because of the way it's pronounced in Japanese.
"Han" is closer to the way we pronounce the Hun in English; if they used フ in the name instead, it would sound/look like Hoo or Fu-nigan to them.

That makes sense, thanks! Still dubious as to the name's legitimacy though.

          • If you are still unsure about the existence of the name, "Hunnigan" is a surname with celtic origins, also written as
Hunigan, Hunigen, Hunhygen, Hunnigane, Hunnagan, Hunneguin and occasionally Hannigan.
"Hunigan" seems to be the origin name.

It's just one of those problematic surnames that do not have a consistent form because of it's age.
If you filter out the Resident Evil search results(since they show up more because of popularity/most visited), you'll be able to come across records of the name.

"Huni" or "Hunni" is probably more appropriate, as the old name was designated to persons with an occupation
that involved working with honey(called hunniman, huniman, hunnigan). To add to the honey bit, the Japanese also spell and pronounce the hon as han.

Joking around. Well, Nicholai´s case was worse. I also remember "Beards Nevence", but not sure if it was an official mistranslation though.

                • GS2 Arcade Official Website Creature Translations

                  ZOMBIE
Prisoners and researchers on Rockfort Island were infected with the T-Virus and became Zombies. There are various kinds that became Zombies in response to organic experiments, and those infected by happening to be in the place by chance. Among them, there is a Zombie carrying explosives on its back.
In addition, the T-Virus does not have the effect of reviving the dead, unlike the G-Virus that appeared in BIO2. Therefore, it seems the Zombies that appear out from the ground in the graveyard were revived because of the under-research "Progenitor Virus."

                  IMPROVED HUNTER
"A certain organization" obtained the Hunter originally made by the Umbrella Corporation.
The new Hunter species was developed based on that information.
Its appearance is barely different from the Umbrella Corporation's since it was developed in a short time, but as a third party can now control its actions, it could be said that its perfection as a weapon is higher than the Umbrella-made Hunter.

                  BANDERSNATCH
A new B.O.W. model created by Umbrella. It's a prototype of a mass-production model that was the finished result of extensive research to perfect a highly practical Tyrant, rather than as a weapon. Its unusually-developed right arm is flexible and it employs this feature efficiently, shortening or lengthening the distance with a target using tricky movements and attacking with the arm from a long distance. It's believed to be currently deployed for combat training and data collection.
It seems the codename "Bandersnatch" comes from a description in "Through the Looking-Glass"; "a raging Bandersnatch is more difficult to stop than time."

I can also confirm that the t-Virus on Rockfort Island is completely different from the strains featured in BH1 and BH2. It was Alfred's attempt to recreate t-Veronica. It can revive the dead, acts quicker than previous strains and can create similar mutations to Alexia's t-Veronica, but failed symbiosis simply creates Zombies. Steve's father was used as a test subject for it.

                  • In Damnation the Eastern Slav Republic is described as "財閥."

The official translation uses "oligarchs", but it should actually more accurately be "plutocracy." That is, the Eastern Slav Republic is a plutocracy, "a government or state in which the wealthy class rules." Oligarchs doesn't really work because oligarchs are Russian and not very many actually exist anymore since Gorbachev's era.

                    • WIP excerpt from the BIO HAZARD The Wicked North Sea novel.

                      (p120)
Judging from the appearances and names of the company visitors readily guided to the seats, all of them must be VIPs of companies in business with Umbrella Pharmaceuticals.
Gilliam guided Norse and Rain to the seats at the end.
"Mr. Norse and Ms. Lane, you're here."
When all the members took their seats, Gilliam slowly looked around everyone involved and declared in a particularly loud voice with more dignity than before.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting. Please give it up for the master of this mansion, Mylene Beardsley, 17th head of the Beardsley family."
A door opposite to the door Norse and the others were in vigorously opens to the left and right, and the small shadow of a person appears from the other side.
A long dress glittering with sewn-in small and large gems. A tiara and gorgeous necklace with seven colors of large jewels in a row.

                      (p122)
She slowly stood in front of the dinner table and gave a faint smile full of cold beauty, like an Oriental ceramic.
Even Norse and Rain held their breath in her beauty.
                      This was Mylene Beardlsey......
From the bustle of nearby seats, the two were even more surprised to learn that she was 17 years old. They weren't able to consider her dignity with an air of authority to be something of that age at all. It was provided by nature. Is this what's called noble blood?
Mylene looked around the guests and gave a slight nod to them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my Beardsley Castle. Please enjoy yourself this evening."
She sounded just like the tone of a pleasant musical instrument.
When she the sponsor took a seat, waiters quickly appeared and went around pouring wine into silver glasses placed before the guests.
"Ms. Mylene, thank you for your invitation this evening. You've become more and more beautiful."

                      (p123)
In the guests, a stout elderly gentleman threw the first words toward her.
"Mr. White, President of Rochetant Electronics? I met you at a symposium in Paris two years ago. You definitely seem to be looking well there......"
"This too is thanks to Umbrella's vitamin pill compound."
The elderly gentleman bore an expression of great delight at Mylene having remembered his name. Then the guests rushed to speak to her as if a dam had broken, striving to be first.
"Ms. Mylene, the new painkiller received your ideas, but has finally made it to release through joint development with Umbrella."
"The shares of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals in our company's dealings this year eventually exceeded 70%. Thanks to that, our company's sales have shown distinguished growth compared to last year."
At the dinner party, such lip service and business tales flew about for a while.
Most were stories of another world for Norse and Rain, but they couldn't help but be shocked by Mylene conscientiously remembering all the names and positions of the guests sat in a row and being able to fluently speak with technical knowledge and jargon in pharmaceutical development that a 17 year old girl couldn't possibly know.

                      (p124)
One more thing had become clear. There was a connection between Umbrella Pharmaceuticals and the Beardsley family. As far as they heard from the guest's conversations, the Beardsley family wasn't a provider of simply land. They definitely cut into the nerve center of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals.
If that was the case, why'd she invite herself to this seat? Did she really have any trap prepared......
As the dinner progressed, Norse still just observed Mylene. His sharp stare was constantly stuck to her.
She could notice it. However, her eyes totally ignored his existence as though it were air.
Norse understood her intention enough. She wanted to say he was a completely worthless existence.
The elderly woman in the next seat spoke to Norse.
"Darling, you haven't said a single word from the start, what's your name? How do you know the Beardsley family?"

                      (p125)
She seemed to have a vested curiosity in Norse's features, which weren't appropriate among the upper class ladies and gentlemen sitting in the rows no matter how you looked at it.
It seems that strong curiosity against Norse had been borne.
...No, I'm just a tourist who came to this island by chance.
But before Norse could eat, a voice flew from the sponsor's seat.
"Mr. Norse is a super-elite soldier who was active in the British Army's specialized anti-terrorism unit, the CRW-wing team.
All the visitors who'd taken place at the table and seen Norse's appearance were surprised at Mylene's words.
                      ......It's an old story.
Norse matched eyes with Mylene for the first time. There he noticed that in her golden pupils one could be drawn into was hostility like acutely sharp ice.
"Two years ago, United Nations dignitaries were abducted in Ireland by the IRA. He participated in the rescue mission. But the operation failed. His team was wiped out and he left the military for it and now merely wanders, is that right?"
......How did this woman investigate his top-secret military past that absolutely shouldn't be in the open? In witnessing the smiles in her room, Norse again noticed the volume of her supporters.

                          • Finally finished translating Biohazard : Marhawa Desire from the French edition (Tome 3) ~

After becoming very bored, very quickly during Tomes 1 & 2, I began to find the narrative of Tome 3 far more interesting, and emotionally strong, so much so that I'm actually looking forward to Tome 4 next month. Not quite sure though about rationally talking infectants.
