  • Never played Dead Space, so no idea.

Interesting enemy design regardless. The whole body is armored and bulletproof, the only weakspot is on their bellies which they only reveal frequently, similar to the Reapers from RE5.

If Sherry is there to escort Jake to Simmons, I wonder why it's taking her six months to do that.
Oh gosh, I wonder what they're doing in the meantime. I WONDER.

Serious answer: we'll probably never find out. Expect a lot of fanfics to speculate, though.

      • Just fully translated the DSO section on the official site. Enjoy.

The "DSO (Division of Security Operations)", an organization of new agents with flexibility and readiness which the United States of America needed in order to protect the nation from the new threat of "bioterrorism."
The DSO was established in 2011 at the directive of President Adam Benford.

The biggest characteristic of the DSO is that it consists of agents chosen from various organizations placed as agents of the "President's direct control." All their assignments are direct orders from the President, and that is why their actions are considered to be absolute justice.

In accordance with the justice the President believed in, only two years from its formation the DSO eliminated all dangers threatening the U.S. and was referred to as the "Sword of the President." One of the typical agents of this DSO is Leon S. Kennedy, who was also a member at the time of its establishment. In addition, Sherry Birkin belonged to the DSO, but when she first became an agent, she belonged to another organization. She transferred to the DSO, but because she was immediately assigned to the mission of protecting Jake Mueller by Simmons, Leon did not know she belonged to the DSO until after the incident occurred. Furthermore, although there was once an anti-bioterrorism force in the U.S. called the "FBC", they are not directly related and the attributes of the organization are also considerably different from the DSO.

          • Details

            BSAA:

The BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) is the organization Chris Redfield works for. They were in both Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil 5. While the BSAA started as a non-governmental organization, the Queen Zenobia incident in Resident Evil: Revelations led to them being restructured as a special task force under the control of the United Nations. There exist eight branches of the BSAA around the world.

            DSO:

Leon now works for an organization called the DSO (Division of Security Operations). The DSO was formed in 2011 by U.S. president, Adam Benford, to protect the country from bio-terrorism. Leon was one of the founding members of the organization, and the DSO comprises mostly of flexible government operatives who report directly to the president.

Sherry Birkin, who’s back in Resident Evil 6, works for the DSO as well. When she joined the organization, Sherry was tasked with the protective detail of new character Jake Muller.

            FOS:

In addition to the DSO, the president also formed a second organization in 2011—the FOS (Field Operation Support). The job of the FOS is to provide support to government agents, not just from the DSO, but across the U.S. The FOS gives these agents their instructions. (Is this who Hunnigan works for now?)

            Edonian anti-government mercenaries:

Finally, there’s the Edonian anti‐government mercenaries. Edonia, a European state, underwent a change in government when a group of officers staged a coup d’etat. The rebels didn’t manage to overthrow the government—instead, the rebellion caused the government to strengthen its resolve and the current ruling party was replaced by a new one that focused on strengthening ties with European countries.

In the years that followed, while most anti-government rebels went into hiding, other extremist rebels continue to protest, and have managed to get their hands on the C-virus, which creates the J’avo. This causes the BSAA to intervene.

Thanks for the translation, Newsie. I've been waiting for this. I'd like to know more about underlined text, is there any info on this shadowy organization? Also, this FBC sounds interesting.

We don't know yet, but she might have been a member of the agency Leon originally worked for, which doesn't have a name. Just referred to as the "secret military agency" and commonly mistranslated as the "United States Secret Service" even though it is nothing close to the USSS (and BH6 confirms they are separate).

                              • It'll probably be a Chris scenario, the one that takes place before the events of the game when he loses his team of men and it drives him to the bottle. That's what'd make the most sense, anyway. But I'm open for other scenarios too.
