In what way does it seems gorier exactly? It seems about the same.

But all Resident Evil games released after the second one have less limbs removal (can't explode the legs or cut them in half anymore)

I have no idea. It certainly seems somewhat gorier. I have no idea why it was toned down for RE2 - I guess they got some complaints?

Leon uses the hand grenades, but not the grenade launcher. Elza uses the launcher, but not the hand grenades.

Elza? Well, in the first demo, she WAS using grenades. But someone told me she was not supposed to, but I can't remember, because I deleted my PMs. The guy seemed to have a big knowledge about 1.5. (No, It was not Alzaire).

Sadly, Chief Irons fate is unknown. In my game, he would just be gone from his room and left his diary behind.
