Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

^ The one thing that worries me a lot is the sentry turret killstreak reward. I. Fucking. Hate. Sentry. Turrets. They're what made me detest Killzone 2, and I don't want to hate this game. I want to love it, and I want to play it a lot.

The other thing that worried me was the spawn-grenades, but in watching the full presentation on GameTrailers, they revealed that the grenades can be destroyed. So...that's a good thing.

oh god yea i forgot about the sentry turrets thats going to be a bit annoying. I think the spawn grenades are a pretty wierd thing to have lol i dont see many people using them to be honest. Im also a bit worried about the shields which could get pretty annoying especially in games like capture the flag or Headquaters

It's looking all kinds of win. Definately picking up the PC version soon as it's released.

Will many from here getting the PC version? Would be fun to actually play with people I recognise.

The console itself doesn't interest me, but the fact that they are adding a bigger HDD kind of hints to the strategy vs PS3's Blueray disc, so games could be on more DVDs to be installed?

UPDATE: The 250 HDD will be only abviable with his special edition according to Microsoft... Yeah right, for how long?

I'm preordering this. Since I sent my 360 back for replacement, they just sent me a check for the same amount. I got the better deal: Since I had originally gotten a Pro from my grandparents for Christmas 2007, priced at $399... Awesome deal for me.

Not just kill streaks but the Death Streak perk -- Copycat lets you copy an enemy's perk if they kill you a certain number of times. Helpful for if you're at a low Prestige level. Also, notice the AT-4? Not just handguns as sidearms anymore.



You can now choose what you want as equipment...not just frags.



Customizable kill streak rewards...you can choose up to 3.

My issues with COD4 were mainly with the spawn points -- nothing better than spawning on a hail of gunfire or a random grenade -- the perk system, and how incredibly noob-friendly the game is. Some perks were just...well...

I've been playing CoD4 a lot lately...in anticipation for MW2. It really is a very fun multiplayer game. Flawed, yes, but as far as pick-up-and-play fun is concerned, there aren't too many other games that I've personally played that can rival CoD4, and hopefully MW2 will carry on the tradition.

Flawed? What do you mean, exactly.

I havent played COD4 on a console, on which I assume it might not work quite out as intended, but on PC COD4 is a colossal technical and conceptual success since... 2004. The game is exctremely well balanced. So much so that theres not a single forum topic on the internet, concerned about the inbalance in weapons. The netcode is amazing and theres a bunch of cool technical stuff that will raise your eyebrow (for example, you can switch between WiFi and corded connection midgame and it wont kick you out). Its a rough FPS to get into, though. COD4 has been the toughest transitions for me, but I started playing in S&D servers only. There are two problems with the game, but I doubt you had those in mind. The game burns out fast. In 300 or so hours, you´d have done everything the game has to offer. And theres not enough custom content.

Overall, COD4 is a perfectly balanced, perfectly paced, purely skill-dependant FPS game with a lot of great aspects that make it one of the best casual and competitive FPS game. But thats on PC. Ive noticed from console frag videos, that the game is considerably slower and most of the weapons that are considered a "must" in every arsenal, are never used there. I would be interested in a quick insight from a player though, so do tell.

oh yes Hans Zimmer has made some of the best movie sound tracks that ive ever heard hopefully we will get some great epic hans zimmer songs that can compete with stuff like now we are free or Gortoz a ran - J'attends, the black hawk down theme. Its a shame that he wont be working with Lisa Gerrard as she is an amazing singer and they make a great team
