You could say that. I know a bit about her story and yeah, she becomes a badass and a major power.

I love Daenerys, her progression as a character has been great to watch.Originally posted by Alexia_Ashford View PostAll my books arrived today, just about to start reading GoT. I like Drogos wife, the Targaeron woman. From what I've heard she goes from the scared little girl under her brothers thumb into a bit of a Kerrigan. I like Kerrigans.
The last 15 minutes of Sunday's episode was pretty mindblowing. A lot of crazy shit went down. Loving this show.

I still have to catch up on the last couple of episodes, but just a note to all those enjoying A Game of Thrones on HBO. Once the season has ended--pick up the books. Read them. You will not regret. Trust me. That is all. The series is good, but the books themselves are a far more rewarding experience. There's too many small things that are ending up lost, glossed over, or outright changed. But I don't mind much since it's still a damn good effort on the productions part, and it's really casted well for the most part. Getting to see scenes from the story in a real-life context is a treat enough in it self.
Though, I wonder how they're going to handle the bigger battles that happen later on. . .
[And Yes, The Blood of the Dragon, Daenerys Stormborn, is totally awesome. Tied with my favorite characters in a three way--Dany, Jon, and Ned]sigpic

I'm going for once it's done. That way I don't have any expectations of the show. I read the Walking Dead comics before I watched the show (truth be told, way before the show was announced) and couldn't help but negatively compare the two. The comics are better. So I figure I'll watch this, enjoy it for what it is, THEN read the likely better book and enjoy that as well.

I'd say read the books--they're the better experience. If you wait till after the series, I'd say you're cheating yourself out of the first-time surprise and twist of reading the books, along with it's more fleshed out and layered subplots and characterizations to go along with it. I'm not really sure what to say other than they are the better end of the stick to experience the story.Originally posted by Scream View PostI should probably read the books after the end of the series, right? Or will reading them now enhance the experience...
And Darkmoon, I don't think you have to worry about being disappointed about reading the books first as the series goes on. I'm really loving the show. It's a good adaptation. Well-casted, nice sets, and adapts most things pretty well. I don't think you'd have to worry about feeling disappointed, but, that's just me.sigpic

I laughed when I saw who the pale silver haired girl marries...Shes fucking marrying Conan the barbarian.
And the molten crown scene was VERY well done.Last edited by Wrathborne; 06-07-2011, 12:16 AM.

So, that Game of Thrones episode last night...I don't think I've felt so gutted when watching a TV show since Jack Bauer was forced to kill Curtis Manning on 24, seconds before a nuke went off in southern California. What an incredible show. Next week's finale should be something else.
