I have a blue and green debug unit as well as an actual dev unit. The blue model is essentially a region free system that allows CD-r's to boot. The green ne has a special memory card that dumps code to it. The dev system is like a PC, though I've never powered it up.

Eh, it depends. PS1 debug hardware, which is likely what a CD-r would have been test on, is essentially retail hardware anyway.

meh.......yeah the labs are really similiar so it was probably expected they'd stay in there until they made tweaks. But thats probably about it. The animations and weapons being the same at first is interesting though

How much of the labs were used, that's a question, but 1.5 material was used during retail development without a doubt.
Oh? I haz not seen this

I just want to get the facts straight, I first heard about Beta 1 myself years ago on the Bioflames forum and chaps were always saying that it was rarer than 1.5 (which is pretty much true now that we have a 1.5 build), but other than the 1997 E3 trailer, was there any other evidence of Beta 1 being a real build?

Back then I was willing to take in any and all information with allot of belief simply because it was a wealth of new information in which I had no right to disbelieve. Now though, I'm allot more skeptical as to if this Beta 1 build that is said to combine the RE2 RPD with the 1.5 sewers, factory and lab a little hard to fathom. Well, maybe the 1.5 lab exists in an early RE2 build since the final lab in RE2 was pretty much another coat of paint with rooms removed and a few new rooms added.

I actually really want there to be in existence, the Beta 1 build and what most of us assume it is, but with what we now know, it's harder for me to believe it exists without solid evidence.
Sure it existed, but that bs about 1.5 rooms being in it probably isn't true unless its like the trial where they are just in data and not playable, and yes it existed but did it get out of capcom? no, probably not

    LMFAO

You can SO tell they've been photoshopped. I could have done a better job. Half of the 'extra hallways' don't match the perspective for starters.

Thanks! Not the video I remembered, although it reminded me where it was from. I could have sworn there was a high quality version posted not so long ago but I can't remember. :/

I'm not sure I've seen this video before.

Wasn't an extended HQ version of the E3 1997 trailer uploaded not so long ago, does anyone have a link to it?

It's very weird that they switched which shotguns they wanted in the game from 1.5 to the final release.
