@ OKei: No, no scans of the interview itself. I remember that Doughboy (my Japanese translator) told me that the sentence I have uploaded was the only one about 1.5, out a few pages interview with Imagica.

It must be hard to understand for Westerner fans, but really Japanese fans don't care at all about betas. Capcom released a few videos of 1.5 and 3.5 and as the Japanese fans are concerned, that's all they want to know about the development of these games. There must be a few exceptions, of course, but I am speaking about the average gaming population, which is a lot wider in Japan than in Westerner countries.

So yeah, one sentence about 1.5 (which wasn't even named) in a 2 or 3 pages interview...
It's the same than with RE Dash, when Okamoto said one paragraph about the whole game, out of a several pages interview about RE games.

@Vixtro: Thank you The artworks in this rubric come from Research on BH2 Final Edition, BH Archives and the first american comic book#1 ( http://www.survivhor.com/RE2/CREATIO...RKS/index.html )

Right, in-game cutscenes are not the FMV/CGI that's being discussed like you'd find in the intro and ending of the game. Cutscenes are present in the game, FMV is likely not on the discs, except maybe the final beta (if we're lucky), although they are pretty much confirmed to be finished and exist. But I doubt we'd ever get a hold of those.

The only E3 that has any relevance to 1.5 is the November 2-4, 1996 one that was held in Japan.

There's really not gonna be anything new to find about 1.5 from old material. Most magazines had the same things, and there seems to be maybe only 1 possible video that nobody still has found (if it was even a video). The only way we'd find anything new would be if some obscure, or foreign, magazine popped up that had rare or unseen footage - similar to certain German/Europe magazines that have exclusive footage.

    you see re1.5 cinematics !
You see in game cutscenes and not the impressive Full Motion Videos. I don't think any imagery of the Prototypes FMVs have been shown.

to find old magazines who speak bio1.5 with pics !
I know some people have already started doing this but I have yet to see anything new or impressive from the old magazines, after all all they got was either the same handful of screenshots or videos as the next publisher or if capcom did it, some kind of prototype that they more than likely had to return. I don't think magazines would provide anything new as they can't show off everything about a game and all the ones I've seen seem to reiterate the same stuff.

The Play Station Expo '96 took place in the B and C buildings of the Harumi convention center on March 28 and 29. The previous year's Play Station Expo took place in October, so it was only 6 months since the last one. But this event grew to twice the size of last year!

There were 78 vendors with booths showing off their latest Play Station games. There was a main stage in each building where some vendors had special shows, and several vendors had various small events inside their own booths. Some of the events, displays, and new games are described in more detail below.

In November of 1996 (11/2 to 11/4), the Playstation Expo and E3 game shows were held at the Makuhari Messe together. Once you got a ticket for either event, it will "free" to go to the other one. The Playstation Expo was much bigger, and much more flashy. (This was the first year that they had the E3 event in Japan.)

As usual for the recent game shows, there were several seiyuu related events at the vendor booths and main stages.

Cheers, that stuff on your site is immense! I never knew there were was so much released concept art. Shame I don't understand much French otherwise I probably would have found it myself.

I am pretty sure it's a retail scene from the start. I believe in a video of the earlier version of retail, you can see the stuff missing too.

This is where the informations concerning 1.5's CGI come from:

It was an interview of the japanese company Imagica about RE2's CGI for a Famitsu review of RE2. The only part of the interview about 1.5 (and without any visual) was when they said, "The most challenging part [about making RE2's CGI] was when we had to redo everything, to fit the new scenario".

According to this statement, we can deduct that
    1) All the 1.5 CGI were done
    2) the storyline told in the CGI of 1.5 was different

But this may not be completely true, because they used Leon's 1.5 model in RE2 CGI, so they obviously didn't "redo everything" ;)

Yes there is of course the possibility that even if the FMV was done, which it supposedly was, that it was never pressed onto a beta disc yet. Hence why I said -if- they are on a disc, it would most likely be the final beta.

I recall an obscure interview somewhere where they flat out stated all the fmv had been completed for 1.5, and they had to redo a lot of it because most of it (esp. the opening) didn't match anymore. Leon's model in the FMV is definitely the same base model, maybe with a few small tweaks (although his knife is still present, as was pointed out earlier in the thread). I wouldn't argue that. The ending FMV, to some degree, is probably similar, although I would say that it too was probably largely tweaked, considering the changes in Sherry and Elza > Claire and the fact there would have been more sub-characters surviving on the train with them.

But it's hard to say overall what kind of differences there might be.

Or it's still on one of Capcom's hard drives that was used in create the cinemas, and was never pressed on a disc. =P

Actually, I recall somewhere here that they didn't necessarily redo some of the FMVs as they just redid Elza's model for the ending scene that they kept, and Leon's 1.5 model was kept.

Actually the cinematics/FMV were completed, this was stated in an interview when they mentioned they had to completely redo them because of the new story when they scrapped 1.5. However, unfortunately there is no media footage of any 1.5 FMV available. There is no information whether any will be present on a beta disc either. It's not on the build PSM reviewed though, so if they are included on any disc it would most likely need to be a later version or the final beta.

As far as we all know, the cinematics were not completed... So no images either. Until the RE 1.5 section is completed for this site, you might just want to go to www.bioflames.com and check out more info there. There are tons of images, movies, and interview transcripts there as well.

The unfortunate thing if, Fujin, that asking anyone here a series of questions will get you nowhere -- we really don't know that much about the game. The percentage of completion numbers jumps, the RPD station is practically unknown, and what we do know comes from either watching the videos of it, looking at images, or just reading old pieces of information.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.
