The disc we have and the disc Capcom used at the event are not the same. If any, they are probably from a very close era of development, but just because everyone started to call the "v0.01" disc the "V-Jump" disc, it doesn't make them the same. There might have been a lot of discs sent to the press during the time Capcom revealed the title and the final printing.

Guest repliedSomething I've just noticed. Build v0.01 has some differences to the V-Jump build shown in the 95' presentation, most notably the absence on Jill guarding the hallway stairs.
Anyone know why this is? Is it possible to remove Jill through hacking and access the stairs? I assume v0.01 was handed out to press and Jill was put in just for completeness sake.

Yeah but I like the because the controls reminded me of retro games from the SNES. You know like double tap to run and pushing a button to swap weapons. It just felt nostalgic with those controls and I like them more than the final builds controls.Originally posted by drunkdog View PostThere is a reason for that... they just weren't as good as the final control set... and for most people who are not beta addicts like us.... they would dislike these controls very much. A lot more difficult to get used to.

But I like the beta controls! It's too bad this could not be a alternate controller set-up in the retail game! Too bad nothing else could be taken from the beta!Originally posted by ShadowHeart View PostPlaying this made me giggle about how much is different. Especially the controls! Guest repliedI knew it would die down... but being such a massive fan of BH and reading about these beta's and looking at pictures years back... then to finally get some of them was amazing!... thanks for all the work you guys put into them though !
I'm sure when 1.5 comes to light, if it ever does.... hacking and what not won't die down for a while, we've wait very long for that game....

I guess so...Originally posted by drunkdog View PostNothing else came from this... ?
Looks like interest in these alpha builds has vanished since they are no longer "fresh" (as they were shortly after their release) and since it's becoming harder and harder to make new discoveries once the first batch of stuff has been uncovered.
There's nothing strange about that.
I'd say it happens with pretty much every pre-release leak.
As soon as all the major things have been found there's no more reason and/or motivation to keep spending time on it.
Well, in case the Biohazard 2 Prototype shows up I am quite confident that interest in experimenting, researching and hacking will rise up to the max once again!
I haven't lost faith, I am just keeping quiet and waiting for the right moment to return to this forum and Biohazard hacking in general...
Neither Revelations nor Mercenaries have caught my interest, the only Resident Evil I am really looking forward to (play) is 1.5!Last edited by Upaluppa; 06-29-2011, 10:16 AM.

002 Dormitory KeyOriginally posted by kevstah2004 View PostThanks, talking about the wasps was their supposed to be a item on this desk?
maybe use the flamethrower or bazooka on the nest and it droped down on it.
The picture of the broken shotgun can explain why there is that strange angle, and why the beta have ROOM FLAG for that item. One more build to the count. This one though should be somewhere in between both alphas: DOWNLOAD SCAN. They come from EDGE Magazine UK Issues 26 and 28. Issue 26 has some generic pictures, but Issue 28 has Chris fighting some Wasps on Kenneth's hallway, instead of a Hunter or the White Coat Zombie -and still with the white door from the first Alpha- and Chris with the shotgun at his feet in the outside portion area at the back of the restroom -area only accessible on the second Alpha-.
And if you noticed you can choose to take on the role of Chris or LucyLast edited by SonicBlue; 04-26-2011, 09:46 AM.

Both unique pictures cannot be accomplished without hacking a disc or with a disc without a menu debug of sorts that allow someone to do that kind of things. The first one impossible by January 1996 standards and the second one would only reaffirm the fact that this one is a different build.

Guest repliedOh yea, clearly it's mirrored, i never once disagreed with that... it's just weird they would show two quick clips of the the rooms/action being mirrored.

I didn't even notice the bite was swapped over. My bad there then.Originally posted by Alzaire View PostIt's pretty obvious to me it's the 10/04 build's sitting area with the footage mirrored and whacked out brightness.
Go boot it up and test it out. Zombies bite Chris on the right side of his neck. In the mirrored footage, the zombie bites Chris on the left side - which is exactly what happens if you mirror the footage. The spotlighting is the same, just the footage itself was captured with some whacky brightness settings, either from the tv settings it was captured from, or maybe a filter or something, I dunno. Pretty clear to me it's mirrored footage with brightness issues.
