You can not add new files to the ISO, though. But rebuilding a PS1 disc from scratch isn't too hard. The methods can be a bit wonky when you're dealing with mode2/XA streams, but besides that... fairly easy (and surely there must be an updated and slightly more useful method than the ancient methods I tend to rely on)
There is no way to launch the game without packing all into a PSX "working" iso?

I can just picture a group of Umbrella researchers watching that through some glass window and just wondering where they went wrong, "Um yeah guys, that spider we made last week? It's fucked."

Problem I have with CD mage is that it won't allow a renaming or seems to have no import function.

Nope, I have just tried changing the Big Spider AI and it crashes with the Chimera just like anything else.

I still had a little fun with the spider tough:

I'll try the model swapping but not before testing the AI modifier with the spider!

I also found a way to move NPC's around on the X, Y or Z axis but I don't think it is of much use since they'll go straight through walls if you let them:

    Edit:
Some very basic custom cutscenes might be possible to create with this but that's about all I can think of.
Brad looks like he's doing an impression of Sub-Zero and Chris doesn't look the least bit impressed.

The other idea is to swap using an iso editor that doesn't break the PSX iso, Em1009 with em1026 and em2026 with em2009 so that the model is swapped round and thus should function. But I've had no luck with Iso editors.

    I don't know much about 3d models and animations (I'm a programmer, not a graphics designer/animator), so...
    Thanks for letting me know!

Say, is there anything comparable to the Chimera in the amount of body parts?
    The Big Spider, perhaps?

    Here:
    Forest AI Modifier
    300C19C1 0005

It was ID 05 (Crow) I set it to.
He started to randomly warp around the balcony...

The Chimera (ID 09) did not work at all, it caused an instant game freeze.
I used the Crow ID to give an example of what happens when you change the AI of anything other than Kenneth.

I think the reason why it works with Kenneth is that he's the only NPC with absolutely no AI/animation at all.
Also Kenneth is not in the art/statue room in the 10/04 build, that's exactly the problem we have with testing the Chimera.

    Edit:
    Hmm...
The same counts for Forest, he had no AI in any build before the Director's Cut.
So this theory is most likely wrong.

I'll be honest, I have no clue why it works with Kenneth and nothing else. There must be something about his setup that makes him different from other NPC's.
It might be possible to get it to work with other NPC's by further tweaking the values around the AI modifier but I haven't experimented with that yet.
