There's a difference between evolution and discarding everything that makes certain type of franchise special.

An real evolution of RE would be to improve new ways to scare the player, better game design etc. RE4 was not evolution, because it simply discarded everything that made RE special.

For next Silent Hill or Amnesia, I hope there will be laser rooms and kickass takedown's, because that's what evolution is, right? Making everything unique into black blob of Gears of War/COD rip-off's.

RE6 is full of sacrifices alright.

And not all devs are as lazy either.

I was referring to what the "vanilla" plagas did to their cannon fodder Ganado/Majini hosts, not the dominant species plagas (as News Bot said), which is what I'm assuming Saddler possessed. Because yes - that was ridiculous. The same can be said of most of the plaga-related bosses in RE4 and 5 (Mendez, Salazar, Irving).

Would imagine the PC version is going to include the higher quality textures.

Ha. Perfectly described. I felt the same way. I can easily get over "bad" textures, but the NPC deigns and movements were often cringe-worthy.

Not really, Aheri at least gets all of its mass from somewhere (corpses). Most of the other viruses/organisms in the series aren't so forgiving, and like to generate mass out of thin air.

The dominant species Plagas and their mutations were totally batshit, though. I mean, they had a chance to explain it by saying that was a Plaga mixed with the t-Virus or something, but no. They reference the t-Virus for no fucking reason at all instead.

Don't you consider Resident Evil 4 an abomination?

    Precisely.

The funny thing about Las Plagas is that it's more likely to happen in real life than the T-virus, yet people think the contrary. What I found pretty nonesensical about Las Plagas was mostly the over-the-top mutations, but the same can be said about the T or G-virus monsters even though they APPEAR more likely and realistic.
