The female VA much better. I'm not sure on James' VA, it is more different than worse/better.

I knew that, what I meant specifically is it's odd that they remixed some songs and not others in the new VA version.

Troy Baker is a good voice actor for example, but the voice is just so rough sounding (like his work for Two Face in Batman) and just seems a little too over the top for the type of character James is seemingly.

I don't get re-recording some of the soundtrack, but I assume that comes down to the audio mix that was originally done and what they wanted to support now. Who knows.

But hey at least we get a choice. Unlike SH3.
The audio mix and new voice acting supports 5.1 where as the original voices are only supporting stereo.

I'd be interested to hear more of Maria, as i'm aware she is now voiced in the new HD version by Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn who is a highly respected voice actor and provides the voice for many of the music tracks for the Silent Hill series.

I also feel the same you guys do regarding this chap being a bit heavy handed toward the cause for Heather voice actress. People are only trying to preserve her work for fucks sake, not stalk her.

More comparison clips from SH2. James too melodramatic IMO. And I'm curious how people feel about Angela's new VA. Does she sound that much better to you?

Must be a US thing. My store still has it set to launch at what's more or less the local equivalent of a "cheap/budget" release (of the non-shovelware type)

gamestop is apparently the scrooge mcduck of the gaming retailers.

The company has decided to keep silent hill HD collection at its 49.99 suggested retail price despite every other retailer dropping it down to the more reasonable 39.99 price which is normal for many HD collections minus metal gear solid HD. despite the fact that i have brought up not just online but physical retailers that can actually challenge gamestop (walmart, target, kmart) to customer service themselves they have basically said they can price at what they want.

i bring this up since there is a walmart not even 3 doors down from my gamestop and i can just pay my friend money to hold on to so i can order from amazon, i would liek to support the guys at my gamestop since i like them but i cannot allow this 10 dollar price increase to go unjust.

contact your local gamestop and tell them to lower the price!

Waaah, can't wait for the HD collection to release. While I did love Heather's original VA, I feel that having someone else isn't going to kill it entirely for me as I was never a huge fan of SH3 to begin with. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game, but a new VA just won't affect how much I enjoy it at all.

Besides, (well I can only speak for myself here), I've never heard this new VA and she might not be all that bad either. Bah, I'm usually a pessimist, seems I remain optimistic regarding things like these though.

Today was interesting for me. I go to take my brother shopping and I come to find at a gaming pawn shop a copy of Silent Hill 3 with a strategy guide for $30. I figured I might as well collect another copy while I can, and sure enough the soundtrack was still included. I wonder if the value will go up any once the HD collection releases.

EDIT: Lately I seem to be ridiculed as someone who isn't a true fan just because I encourage the original voices and had my friend play SH2 on his Xbox. Most popular seems to be Rely on Horror, but the same ones show up on Gamefaqs. I guess I have to blindly support every decision made no matter the reason. ;>_>

Well, it's very possible to replace the sounds, but it's a grey area going into that lol

    He sounds like a dick.

It's funny how he took credit for getting back the SH2 actors as well, as far as I remember.

ughhh, annoyed. Heather Morris was amazing as Heather, her character was ALSO based on Heather so it's really hard to see why the care wasn't taken for Silent Hill 3 either, it was neglected in this whole 'collection', the obvious selling point was SH2, which isn't bad, but 3 is overshadowed by it...
