There were no Zombies in the ship version of BIO3 at all.

Interesting! Is this the concept version on a ship people have often talked about? I never knew BIO3 was in planning as early as 1997.

Fits very well, guess that seals it all.

They began working on BIO3 in at-least Nov. 1997. It ended up as CODE:Veronica after the scenario changed due to certain things in BIO2.

Sure, beta 2's date of creation was:

    1997-10-31 (31st October)

In case it helps, the Trial Edition was:

    1997-08-06 (6th August)

They were most likely still playing with the different camera angles. If I'm not mistaken, it's the same deal with the front entrance of the Umbrella Factory in the vanilla build. The camera angles are completely off from the Trial Disc iterations.

The most likely reason here seems to be because of baby alligators, since the little bastards seem to leap towards the players. You need a somewhat safe distance to take them out without risking losing sight of their range, so the developing team was probably calibrating the proper camera angle change. Think of the actual alligator battle of RE2 - the map design is similar, just with reduced dimensions.

Sorry for the re-post, but the "main" thread is closed for repairs, so I figured we might discuss it here instead:

    ---

I noticed something quite peculiar about the "baby gator room" (northwest pool). Notice how far away Leon is from the camera in the only available image of this area, along with the sections of untextured walls and railing. This room was clearly left unfinished in this build, but were other camera angles even available to the player at all? The camera flags seem to be failing here:

Ah, I see it now. So that's where it should be. It does look odd sticking out like that.

This thing? I've been wondering what it is. It says something about a virus injector?

Just like in retail, that's probably where you make the vaccine in 1.5.

Maybe it'll be possible to create working savegames with this...
Maybe, but what's the point? The build is essentially just a preview of scenario events, there's no real progress to save other than perhaps a few event triggers and enemy deaths.
