Hey there, Unity! Chiming in just before NYCC (we have a lot going this year ) to update everyone on some new RE6 content, and clarification on how this content is delivered. First and foremost, two free DLC items will arrive as a title update soon; No Hope difficulty mode (which is, y’know, super hard) […]

edit: Oops, didn't see was last poster still.

It's a J'avo map, and maybe it is just me but zombies are more fun (though Railyard is J'avo too), but it is awkward to navigate, there are up high areas that aside from going up to get a time bonus are wasted, the main area is quite large but has stuff in the way everywhere so few open spaces, then there is a lower floor that aside from the entrances/exits you have no way of attacking enemies down there, so if enemies spawn down there you got to wait for them to come above, if you go down there you've now got enemies from several floors above taking their time to get to you.

On Steel Beast you can shoot up/down floors very easily. I dislike maps where combo ends most often because you cannot find any enemies.

I am one of the few who really liked the blizzard section. Yeah, you couldn't see shit, but as you said, it's more chaotic that way. It was also non-linear which in my mind automatically makes it one of the strongest parts of the game. Also, I've never had a problem with the slope. You just have to shoot the enemies before they can shoot (or hit) you.

I guess I prefer the Mercenaries maps that are outdoors and aren't all gloomy. It's easier to see what's going on, and easier to hold a combo in a wide open area. Steel Beast is my favorite of the three included in the game.

Being that I didn't hate Leon's scenario in the demo and it has grown on me a bit more, I won a copy of the game on ebay incl. 2 merc dlc for $44.00.. not a bad deal if I end up not liking the game as a whole. So i'll give the game a fair chance but i'm really only interested in Leon's & Ada's.

What are all 3 pre-order maps? Not sure which one i'm missing.

EDIT: NM, I see now that Dracarys mentioned the rail yard.

Yes. The reason it didn't die was it was one of those J'avo that had the armor plating over its torso.

If you countered the same enemy attacks 6 times in a row it should be long dead from the damage, think most enemies die in 1-3 counter attacks depending what enemy and what you're holding. Just to check, you're countering by waiting for an enemy to swing arms/weapon and tapping the fire button right?

Is there a trick to the "Bob and Weave" achievement that I'm missing? I successfully countered six times in a row the same enemy's attacks, but I didn't get the Trophy. Then I was playing on a friend's 360, and I got the Achievement after only countering an enemy's attack once.

Sven on Capcom Unity said the pre-order maps will be available to buy at some point. Catacombs and Railyard are decent maps, the ship one not so much.

Yes, I mean if you only get 2 maps, but there are 3 maps, then it just seems somewhat unfair.

Thanks! I wrote Amazon and they apologized and sent me the codes via email. I still think it's a bit weird. I just wrote Amazon again, because I remembered that I also pre-ordered Operation Raccoon City, but I never got those codes either.

I pre-ordered from Germany so I got 2 Mercenaries Maps and to be very honest, I believe that 3 maps are not enough, so I'm glad to have the pre-order codes, but is there a possibility of getting the other map via paying for the DLC?

The China part plays out like a Jackie Chan movie. Lots of ridikulas stuff happening all the time. I liked the puzzles though.

And I don't even recall any puzzles in China level. All that remember is - pink water in a pool, a tank busting through the door and... lots of Jakie Chan kung fu shit.

It was difficult to tell most of the time that Leon even had a different voice actor, which was great. I wasn't a huge fan of Ada's VA in this game, though. Every line was delivered with a kind of annoying sarcasm to it that I just didn't care for. Such a thing wasn't as apparent in past games.

Who gets into cover like that? How awkward. Just roll into it in one easy motion, slide if running to it from distance.

I think, for the most part, Matthew Mercer was fine as Leon, and he emulated Paul to a convincing, workable degree. As for Courtenay Taylor as Ada, I have to admit that, while the overall performance was well-done, there were definitely some lines that made me pine for Sally Cahill. Sally always exuded a collected, refined voice for Ada, no matter what the situation of the character, and there were moments where Courtenay made Ada sound extremely whiny.
