Could someone explain how the new game+ works? It asks if you want to start without the weapons from your previous run and I chose "No" but I still ended up with the default load from the start of the start of campaign so next round I chose "Yes" and it still gave me the same result.Last edited by Blacktail; 10-06-2012, 11:01 PM.

Can someone link me to the worst RE6 reviews? I want to see some of the things reviewers have had to say about the game?
Brad Shoemaker (Giant Bomb), Phil Kollar (Polygon), Ludwig Kietzmann (Joystiq), and host Kevin VanOrd analyze the Frankenstein's Monster of an action game known as Resident Evil 6. Caution: megaspoilers within!
And they had to explain themselves because...
IMO the game was a 7.5

Just moving a little away from my previously post
But, is just me or someone notice this game has the famous "marvelous infinite enemy factory" from COD4?
I get this in 2 spots
Leon: before use the key in cemitery door i decided to kill some more zombies in order to try get some more ammo
Ada: when you had to search 3 keycodes in the ship to open a door, when one is left i keep hardly to get the last one
In booth situation, the enemies just coming with no break for leon and helena
In ada it infinity span 3 packs of neo umbrella javos

I suppose they could adapt those puzzles to work with regular controllers. Or replacing them with some other puzzles. But that would require an extra expense by Capcom. The porting itself would cost them from half to a full million dlls to each system. At least that's what Wii ports went for (similar technology as the 3DS).

Anyone else getting into Mercs? Managed to get 14th (7th) on Duo Rail Yard. Only 50k points shy of number 1.

However considering how Revelations requires a touch-screen to solve puzzles and even to open doors (most of them require the use of a stylus), it would be a great fit for the 360's SmartGlass, the Wii U gamepad and the PS3+Vita Interactivity feature (where you use the Vita as a tablet).

I agree with everything you said except the bit about the Catacombs area. That was a highlight for me.
What I agree most with, though, is your hatred of the vehicle segments. The only ones that should exist are when Chris flies the VTOL, Jake and Sherry escape on the snowmobiles, and Ada's helicopter section. Those fit the situations well and didn't control like piss... every other vehicle section in the game was piss poor.
Take out half of the vehicle segments and half of the QTEs and this game would have been perfect in my eyes. Those are the only two things I dislike about RE6.

Finally getting some time at the end of the week to catch up with this title.
I've completed Leon and Chris's scenarios and right now at the beginning chapter of Jake's story. When initially reading a couple reviews at the beginning of this week and seen how the game is scored 3 or 4,5 out of 10 and compared to Michael Bay's movies I was starting to get very skeptical. I'm especially skeptical about AAA titles that are over hyped prior to their launch. But after actually playing it I feel relieved, Resident Evil 6 is a good game. It's dark, brutal, captivating and beautiful.
I love the characters, their outfits, looks and personalities. Is the character development present here? - yeah. Is some of it fresh? - hellz yeah.
The dialog is good, the narrative is just good overall. The writing has improved dramatically, at least I didn't feel the need to dumb myself down to pretend like I'm enjoying it.
Some of the enemies are awesome, and as noted by the press - they are some of the best in the franchise. Those regenerating twitching things that Leon first encountered in China were great; or Ustanak is a damn worthy opponent to Nemesis.
Creepy moments and eerie atmosphere are here. I'm glad to see them more often than expected; sometimes they "sneak up on you" and it works really well.
The environments. Every once in awhile it was fun to just walk around slowly, checking out all the details and beautiful set pieces. Though I was hoping for some more interactivity with surroundings, like finding hidden files/evidence or even when you "inspect" a cabinet - it gives a little trivia about it. Ever since demo it was noticeable that environmental exploration is kept to a minimum and things are progression is generally streamlined, and unfortunately it stayed the same in retail version. I can see where the developers were going with it - to speed things up in order to fit with the whole faster paced gameplay. But it would be nice if there was more stuff to do for those who want to take the time to explore.
Also the cover system is there but not very reliable, it works and it doesn't. Didn't really find any use of it in while in Leon's compaign, but while in Chris's shows there definitely were some reasonable moments.
The gameplay has its share of highs and lows. Some highs are pretty high in comparison to RE5 or RE4, but some lows are below average standards.
For instance those "on-rails" chase sequences are bad. Just bad. They are campy as hell, completely unrealistic, out of place, out of space, arcade-style gameplayish... bleh. How anyone suppose to take that crap seriously? It's just cut and throw away material. The game simply did not need them.
The underground caves chapter was also uninspired and felt like a space filler, something just to keep the player busy for a while. I didn't mind the giant fish monster at the end of it probably because the fish itself looked way cooler than the bleak environments preceding it. Though the whole scene was kinda ridiculous.
Speaking of ridiculous, there are a few moments here and there, like the enormous underwater base, which is something you'd see in Paul Anderson's movies, or an back and forth instant transformation of a huge monster to a human sized one. But all in all things are done with good taste here, cinematics are well directed and not just trying to make you go "weow dis iz kewl bra!" like in Michael Bay's pop-corn eye candies. Also I'm glad that laws of physics were not as disregarded as they were in RE5.
I'm about 65% done with the story and at this point I'd rate Resident Evil 6 as a solid 8,5. Don't think it will go down at the end.
Me approves of this game.

Guest repliedI've just gone all the way through Chris Chapter 4, opened the bulk head, lowered the stairs, had to go so I've quit, saved and when I've come back to it I'm all the way back to the start of the Chapter with the same ammo I had before I quit? I've lost all my pills as well. Nice one, more reason to love this game.Last edited by Guest; 10-06-2012, 03:32 PM.
