Just beat Leon's scenario, enjoying it so far! I keep turning/lowering the scope and finding a zombie standing right in front of me and it scares the shit out of me every time. lol. Helena surprisingly grew on me :O
Also, near tears because I've finally gotten to play Resident Evil 1 Dual Shock Directors Cut <strike>ALPHA X 3!!!</strike> I heard about the differences but this is my first time experiencing them! I love the new soundtrack ;-;

Edit: And even if it doesn't hit the same mark as NDS, pretty sure even just 50 million units is a success. Hell, the very moment they turn a profit makes it a success, so really it already is successful because they've already started making money from it. It doesn't have to outdo the NDS to be successful, that's silly.
However, I do agree that Revelations got shafted sales-wise due mostly to the reasons Paul and others have stated: It was exclusive to one handheld with a fairly new install base since it wasn't even a year old yet, while ORC was released on two home consoles, and then the PC as well, and both consoles had 6 or so years to build up a large fanbase.Last edited by Canas Renvall; 10-04-2012, 02:52 PM.

Thing is, they're doing what Nintendo did to survive this gen. There was no future for them going after cores. Not with MS and Sony getting most of them.
Capcom is going after cores and casuals. But its clear that they're listening and targeting one more than the other. They have said it themselves.

I know I'm in that group. I'd love to play Revelations, but I'm not buying 3DS for it. Had to settle for watching a playthrough.

The 3DS had a very small amount of BH fans in its install base. Don't know how many times I've seen "I'd buy it, but I don't have a 3DS".

Guest repliedThanks for the corrections. The exact numbers were't really important, the point I was getting at is that in recent years a lot of the unsuccessful (survival horror esque) RE games have been on unsuccessful consoles. Capcom are making risks on systems with a small user base and stating that survival horror doesn't sell, where they could be making risks on a system with a large user base and getting far more accurate data. ORC is just a perfect example of a sub par game still selling well on a popular system.

Hell I'm a RE fan and I still haven't bought a 3DS or RER, not because RER is a bad game but because the 3DS is an undesirable system.
RE0 sold 1.3 million on the NGC. RE4 sold 1.7 million on the NGC and 3.6 million on the PS2. This just shows the more popular the system the better the sales.

for our sake
i can't feel any motivation to finish this game more than twice like i do since re 1 to 5
qte sucks and badly done, leon act 3 still uninspired by playing this in seccond time, you see the graphics is crap as it is by seeking the blue emblems
what i expect for resi7?
Cutscene, linear gameplay, frenetic shoot and melee action, qte, qte, qte and more moronic annoying qte, cutscenes, more linear play through, more qte, a level you will spend a hour doing qtes

Why is RE.net such shit? I can barely access it and when I do, I get errors everywhere and none of my correct information is showing. Sigh.
I finished Leon's campaign earlier. I absolutely loved it until the end. The final boss, while extremely cool looking, is such a bitch to fight. I also had to do the worst QTE I've ever had to do in my life. What were they thinking? Besides that, the gameplay before hand I thought was great. Hell, I actually jumped at one part during Leon's campaign. Definitely a welcome treat. The story seems weird so far but it also does not seem bad. I'm starting Chris's now. I keep hearing good things about his campaign, so I'm looking forward to it.

My mistake though, was giving you too much credit. Despite what you had said about trying to understand the opinions that went against yours, you only said that for dramatic effect. You didn't really mean it. Amiright?
There literally was nothing in my post about having a problem with people expressing their opinion. There was simply a statement of befuddlement.

Originally posted by Pikminister View PostTo put it bluntly, Kobayashi has absolutely no faith in survivor horror or its fans. What I find hilarious is that this sort of madness is happening on the HD twins and not on a Nintendo console. Where you would expect such bullshit. But then again, Nintendo got Revelations and the HD twins got ORC. And which one sold the most? ORC.
So, I guess Kobayashi and Kawata have a point. From a $ale$ point of view.
