Seriously, he has nothing to gain by making this stuff up, and everything to loose. So far, other, independent sources with the same material confirm that News Bot is usually correct, although I imagine there's some quibbling over details (Japanese is a wench to translate, I'm given to understand). So the evidence for is that no one has proven him wrong, and other people have confirmed his stuff. Where as the evidence against is you don't wanna believe him.

Isn't that how COLVIN got many of his rare items? As I recall, he spread around the forums that he knew people and had this and that, just to trick people to give him their rare stuff.

Calling News bot credible is your opinion. I don't care if he gets mad, but he hasn't proven that much to me with his statements. And what CONTRACTS do you mean? The contracts that say to tell as many people anything you want, but don't say why something is a fact? Anyway, sounds like more "inside information" or "bogus" information that people like to spread around.

Although, he did raise the same types of concerns some of us (*cough*me*cough*) brought up in regards to security. But, well, people only really hear what they wanna hear - probably to the point where people like News Bot, credible as he is, could break contracts and reveal his information sources and what not, and it'd still not be good enough, 'cause it's not what people wanted to hear/believe. (And I feel the same probably applies to 1.5 and the direction it was going - which is probably why there's so many flavors of butt hurt surrounding it these days)

I think I'd die laughing like a maniac if that turned out to be the case. It'd just be too amazingly hilarious on my part, considering how skeptical I was at the start (before Zork seemingly got involved)

The emulator doesn't have any particular characteristics, except the fact that can load stuff without the need of making an .iso, with this, someone working on the build, or any other game can actually edit data on the fly (after recompiling it).

If you have fallowed what happened (with Colvin trying to sell the build along with a "special" emulator) you will find out that the same emulator is being used by Martin, where did he find that?

Colvin gave it to him, along with the TEAM build, because without the emulator it cannot run (as Colvin stated). They were working together behind this mess? Did Martin actually bought it from Colvin? Anyway they were working behind the scenes maybe for hack out part of the content and claiming that this is the 40% build, and sell it, who knows.

More Conspiracy theories! Well, anyway, I just hope this released RE 1.5 prototype demo is not a scam. I know the models and textures are real, and backgrounds (most?), but no dates on the rare RE 1.5 material looks really suspicious. Please don't tell me this is all fake!

Since you're a friend of pSXAuthor can you confirm he's okay health wise? I'm hardly expecting anything anymore but just curious since sometimes great dev's disappear due to unknown reasons.

He hasn't been around on MSN for over 2 years now, probably too busy with his work at EA. I even tried reaching him at different emails, but most were expired or there was no answer at all. :/

Also if it's not any issue, is there anything significant it fixes? The recording feature means nothing to me really I'm so sorry if I'm being a pain,

Most of the fixes were related to synchrony issues in the CPU core. I don't have a list as I kept bugging him with stuff going async while testing the recording feature, so most of that was lost in chats. What I remember, tho, was a nice filter feature he was going to add through DirectX shaders - not really a fix, but it's still an improvement (and he was using my Tales of Phantasia translation for those tests ).

I have reason to believe that what News Bot reports is legitimate even though he can't provide any hard evidence, but I wouldn't blame anyone for taking what he says with a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't have problems believing what News Bot reports here and on Project Umbrella directly from CAPCOM developers. I mean, he's always been talking about facts, not cheap speculation. My anonym source is as trustworthy as News Bot, so at least to me, what he/she refers is 100% correct information with no doubt about it. If people don't really believe it, it's not that much of a big issue; at least this has made it to the public. Believe it or not, it's up to you, but it certainly reveals some shitty shadows on somebody who has taken part in a big scam. He's hacking 1.5 for the public? Big deal about changing a few values around without not even caring about something called ECC/EDC, and it doesn't change all the shit done behind our backs.
